Brandon “Buda Bull” Davis
Martial Arts Experience:
- 1984- I started Freestyle & Greco Roman Wrestling.
After eight years of amateur competition in AAU and USA I had earned Five
Championships respectively in both styles, several hundred wins including
Folk Wrestling, and close to fifty major tournament Championships. My
wrestling lineage includes the University of Iowa (Dan Gable), University
of Wyoming, and Oregon State (Randy Couture pre UFC fame) programs.
- 1993-2004- I tried several different Martial Arts
and Self Defense systems including: Krav Maga, Kickboxing, Military Combat
Training, College Self Defense Courses, and a little TKD.
- 2004/Present- I was Guro Ray Parra’s very first
student in Buda at the Warriors Edge then CTAMA. I am currently (Spring
2008) a ranked Apprentice Instructor II under famed Guro Ray in Jeet
Kune Do. We train in the arts of Jun Fan, Muay Thai/ Thai Boxing,
Kali/Silat Filipino Martial Arts, and Grappling Unified Fighting Arts. My
JKD lineage under Guro Ray includes such greats as Bruce Lee, and Dan
Inosanto.
- 2004/Present- I started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
in the fall of 2004. Currently (Spring 2008) I am a ranked Three Stripe
Blue Belt under Warriors Edge’s Machado BJJ Brown Belt and Texas State BJJ
Champion, King “The Spider” Webb. BJJ lineage includes Carlos Machado &
William Vandry.
- 2006/Present- I have been Boxing with (when
time permits) Warriors Edge’s Texas Golden Glove Champion and former
professional boxer Abel Davilla since his first class.

1989-1993- In high school I ended up a
three-sport athlete with a little national exposure, a high school diploma,
and a college scholarship.

1993-2001- I have been to more than a few
colleges, traveled the world visiting close to twenty different countries,
and lived in other cultures including: Australia, and Kuwait.

1998-2001- I had the distinct honor of serving
our Great Country. The military has given me many invaluable experiences
and knowledge for which I will always be grateful.

2006-2007- As a Field Engineer/Project Manager
for T-Mobile Engineering & Development I was in charge of all commercial

LLC to handle all my property investments, longhorn cattle, and construction

Happily married to my wife Denise since
September 2001 and we have three sons Cortès, Roman, and Raider. We are

guitar, hunt, fish, archaeology, longhorns, and will always be a student of

Teaching Experience:
I trained with Ray Parra from 2003 to 2004 obtaining my yellow belt. I
was able to continue my training in 2007. I currently hold a blue belt
and am an apprentice instructor level III. January 2008 - June 2008 Taught
Kali and JKD to children and youth 7-14 yrs. of age and one adult - 8
students total.
Accomplishments:
2008 - Apprentice Instructor level III under Guro Ray Parra.
2008 - Obtained Blue belt status in Kali and JKD.
2007 - Obtained Green belt status in Kali and JKD.
2004 - Obtained Yellow belt status in Kali and JKD.
2007 - Participated in Kali demo at the Filipino Festival with Ray Parra

Biography:
My father was my greatest inspiration to become a martial artist.
He was a martial artist and instilled the love and respect for it in me
before passing on. My love for this art has been with me since the age of
eight. Though, skill wise, I was not a martial artist, I have always
considered myself one at heart. Now, through the generosity and support
of many people in my life, my goal will someday come to pass. My ultimate
goal is to work with children and youth who want the benefits of martial
arts training, but do not have the means to obtain it. My purpose is to
help them defend and protect themselves in a variety of circumstances
while building self-esteem and confidence.
